The death-rune is a rare rune used in blast spells. They cannot be purchased from any shop. They can also be collected from monster drops, item spawns, and pickpocketed from Heroes. One way to farm Death-Runes is to grow kittens into cats and then sell them to civilians in West Ardougne for 25 Death-Runes each. They were the most powerful offensive rune in free-to-play RuneScape Classic.

Completion of the Underground Pass quest rewards players with 15 Death-Runes and 30 Fire-Runes.

Although Blood-Runes are used for even higher level spells, due to the reliable ways in which Blood-Runes can be acquired through Thieving, Death-Runes are rarer.
