Armour includes items that provide Defense bonuses during combat by increasing the player's armour stat. This reduces the chances of being hit, but does not reduce damage taken. An exception to this is the Anti dragon breath Shield, which reduces the damage of dragon fire attacks.

Only equipment that provides a bonus to the player's armour stat has been listed here. All classes can make use of this armour, and armour provides no negative bonuses to any given attack style. There is no equipment that provides ranged attack bonuses, but armour provides defensive bonuses against ranged attacks. For equipment that boosts a player's magic bonus (which only increases the chance of casting a spell successfully), see Magic. For equipment that boosts a player's prayer bonus, see Prayer.
