A lava eel is a type of fish that players can use as food. When eaten, the player is healed 11 hits. It can be obtained by cooking a Raw Lava eel at a Cooking level of 53 or higher, granting 140 Cookingexperience. Lava eels never burn when cooked.
It is possible that before an unknown update in 2003-2004 lava eels healed 14 hits, as many fansites reported it did.[1][2][3] In March 2004, lava eels were known to only heal 11 hits.[4][5] It is also possible that not many people ate lave eels so the healing amount was incorrectly recorded.
