A brown apron is a piece of equipment which allows a player to access the Crafting Guild, provided that they also have 40 Crafting. Wearing it provides no armour bonus. It can be purchased from Thessalia at the The Clothes Shop in Varrock square.

Aprons are worn in the amulet slot in RuneScape Classic, unlike in later iterations of the game such as RuneScape 2 where they are worn in the torso slot.

"Party aprons" during the 2001 Christmas event

• In late 2001, around the time the compression update was being prepared, there was a graphical glitch where brown aprons appeared half-white when equipped. These were called "split aprons" or "party aprons" (due to being "released" at the same time as Party Hats).
