Dungeon Rat

(Redirected from Dungeon rat)

Dungeon Rats are a specific type of rat that can be found in certain dungeons. These rats play a key role in the Clock Tower quest, in which the player poisons their food trough, which causes them to attempt to escape by chewing away a railing, which allows the player to grab the purple cog.

Trivia

edit
  • It is possible they are not actually intended to be aggressive and only attack players due to a typo, since their "aggressiveness" value in the game's data files is 25, while normal values range from 0-3. In later versions of RuneScape, they became non-aggressive. Another monster with an unusual aggression value is the gnome guard.
  • Previous to 12 December 2002, the examine text of this NPC was simply "Rat". Many previously released NPCs were also given examine texts for the first time on that date, such as the King Black Dragon, who had a blank examine text prior.
