In 2006 RuneScape Classic suffered further decline in popularity.

• 12 January - Nearly 5000 RSC accounts were banned
• From 15 January 2006 onwards, only players who had logged in between 4 August 2005 and 15 January 2006 could play RuneScape Classic. Other accounts were disabled.
