Hitsplat

Hitsplats as they appear in combat.

Hitsplat is a term used to refer to the icon that displayes the damage taken above a player, an NPC, or a monster, while in or outside of combat.

The hitsplat for NPCs is blue, and the hitsplats for players are red. It is not dependent on whether damage was taken or not.

Trivia

Unlike in later versions of RuneScape, there is not a separate colour for damage taken via poison. It is still just a red hitpslat.
