- Player: yes i[sic] did and something's not right
- King Narnode Shareen: what do you mean?
- Player: the prisoner claims he was paid by glough to get the stones
- King Narnode Shareen: that's an absurd story, he's just trying to save himself
- King Narnode Shareen: since glough's wife died he has been a little strange
- King Narnode Shareen: but he would never wrongly imprison someone
- King Narnode Shareen: now the culprit's locked up we can all relax
- King Narnode Shareen: it's sad but i[sic] think glough was right
- King Narnode Shareen: humans are planning to invade and wipe us tree gnomes out
- Player: but why?
- King Narnode Shareen: who knows? but you may have to leave soon adventurer

After reading Gloughs journal, not having spoken with Glough[edit | edit source]
- Player: king shareem, i'm[sic] concerned about glough
- King Narnode Shareen: why, don't worry yourself about him
- King Narnode Shareen: now the culprit has been caught...
- King Narnode Shareen: ..i'm[sic] sure glough's resentment of humans will die away
- Player: i'm[sic] not so sure
- King Narnode Shareen: he just has an active imagination
- King Narnode Shareen: if your really concerned, speak to him
After being thrown in jail[edit | edit source]
- King Narnode Shareen: adventurer please accept my apologies
- King Narnode Shareen: glough had no right to arrest you
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic] just think he's scared of humans
- King Narnode Shareen: let me get you out of there
- (king shareem opens the cage)
- Player: i[sic] don't think you can trust glough, narnode
- Player: he seems to have a unatural[sic] hatred for humans
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic] know he can seem a little extreme at times
- King Narnode Shareen: but he's the best tree guardian i[sic] have
- King Narnode Shareen: he has however caused much fear towards humans
- King Narnode Shareen: i'm[sic] afraid he's placed guards on the front gate...

- King Narnode Shareen: it's not safe for you here
- Player: narnode, i[sic] believe glough is killing the trees
- Player: in order to make a mass fleet of warships
- King Narnode Shareen: that's an absurd accusation
- Player: his hatred for humanity is stronger than you know
- King Narnode Shareen: that's enough traveller,[sic] you sound as paranoid as him
- King Narnode Shareen: traveller[sic] please leave
- King Narnode Shareen: it's bad enough having one human locked up
After talking to Charlie[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello narnode
- King Narnode Shareen: please traveller[sic], if the gnomes see me talking to you
- King Narnode Shareen: they'll revolt against me
- Player: that's crazy
- King Narnode Shareen: glough's scared the whole town
- King Narnode Shareen: he expects the humans to attack any day
- King Narnode Shareen: he's even began to recuit[sic] hundreds of gnome soldiers
- Player: don't you understand he's creating his own army
- King Narnode Shareen: please traveller[sic], just leave before it's too late
After finding Glough's notes[edit | edit source]
- Player: look, i[sic] found this at glough's home
- (you give the king the strategic notes)
- King Narnode Shareen: hmmm, these are interesting
- King Narnode Shareen: but it's not proof, any one could have made these
- King Narnode Shareen: traveller, i[sic] understand your concern
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic] had guards search glough's house
- King Narnode Shareen: but they found nothing suspicious
- King Narnode Shareen: just these old pebbles
- (narnode gives you four old pebbles)
- King Narnode Shareen: on the other hand, if glough's right about the humans
- King Narnode Shareen: we will need an army of gnomes to protect ourselves
- King Narnode Shareen: so i've[sic] decided to allow glough to raise a mighty gnome army
- King Narnode Shareen: the grand tree's still slowly dying, if it is human sabotage
- King Narnode Shareen: we must respond
If you lose a Pebble[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello again narnode
- King Narnode Shareen: please traveller[sic], take my advice and leave
- Player: have you any more of those pebbles
- King Narnode Shareen: well, yes as it goes, why?
- Player: i[sic] lost some
- King Narnode Shareen: here take these, i[sic] don't see how it will help though

- King Narnode Shareen: how could glough- even with a gnome army- take over?
- Player: he plans to make a fleet of warships from the grand tree's wood
- King Narnode Shareen: that's enough traveller, i've[sic] no time for make believe
- King Narnode Shareen: the tree's still dying, i[sic] must get to the truth of this
After defeating the demon[edit | edit source]
- King Narnode Shareen: traveller you're wounded, what happened?
- Player: it's glough, he set a demon on me
- King Narnode Shareen: what, glough, with a demon?
- Player: glough has a store of daconia rocks further up the passage way
- Player: he's been accessing the roots from a secret passage at his home
- King Narnode Shareen: never, not glough, he's a good gnome at heart
- King Narnode Shareen: guard, go and check out that passage way
- (one of the king's guards runs of up the passage)
- King Narnode Shareen: look, maybe it's stress playing with your mind
- (the gnome guard returns)
- (and talks to the king)
- King Narnode Shareen: what?,[sic] never, why that little...
- King Narnode Shareen: they found glough hiding under a horde of daconia rocks..
- Player: that's what i've[sic] been trying to tell you
- Player: glough's been fooling you
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic]..i[sic] don't know what to say

Talking to him again[edit | edit source]
- King Narnode Shareen: traveller, have you managed to find the rock
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic] think there's only one
- Player: no sign of it so far
- King Narnode Shareen: the tree will still die if we don't find it
- King Narnode Shareen: it could be anywhere
- Player: don't worry narnode, we'll find it
After finding the Daconia rock[edit | edit source]
- King Narnode Shareen: traveller, have you managed to find the rock

- King Narnode Shareen: i'll[sic] grant you access to all our facilities
- Player: thanks, i[sic] think
- King Narnode Shareen: it should make your stay here easier
- King Narnode Shareen: you can use the spirit tree to transport yourself
- King Narnode Shareen: ..as well as the gnome glider
- King Narnode Shareen: i[sic] also give you access to our mine
- Player: mine?
- King Narnode Shareen: very few know of the secret mine under the grand tree
- King Narnode Shareen: if you push on the roots just to my north
- King Narnode Shareen: the grand tree will take you there
- Player: strange
