Starting Dwarf Cannon quest[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello
- Dwarf commander: hello traveller, i'm[sic] pleased to see you
- Dwarf commander: we were hoping to find an extra pair of hands
- Dwarf commander: that's if you don't mind helping?
- Player: why, what's wrong?
- Dwarf commander: as part of the dwarven black guard..
- Dwarf commander: ...it is our duty to protect these mines
- Dwarf commander: but we just don't have the man power
- Dwarf commander: could you help?
- i'm[sic] sorry, i'm[sic] too busy mining
- Player: i'm[sic] sorry, i'm too busy mining
- Dwarf commander: ok then, we'll have find someone else
- yeah, i'd[sic] love to help

- Dwarf commander: thankyou, we have no time to waste
- Dwarf commander: the goblins have been attacking from the forests to the south
- Dwarf commander: they manage to get through the broken railings
- Dwarf commander: could you please replace them with these new ones
- Player: sounds easy enough
- the Dwarf commander gives you six railings
- Dwarf commander: let me know once you've fixed the railings
- Player: ok ,[sic] commander

Talking to him again, with railings not fully repaired[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello
- Dwarf commander: hello again traveller
- Dwarf commander: how are you doing with those railings?
- Player: i'm[sic] getting there
- Dwarf commander: the goblins are still getting in
- Dwarf commander: so there must still be some broken railings
- Player: don't worry, i'll[sic] find them soon enough
Additionally if player does not have railings[edit | edit source]
- Player: but i'm[sic] out of railings
- Dwarf commander: ok, we've got plenty
- the Dwarf commander gives you another railing
Talking to him again after having repaired the railings[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello
- Dwarf commander: hello again traveller
- Dwarf commander: how are you doing with those railings?
- Player: i'm[sic] getting there
- Dwarf commander: the goblins seemed to have stopped getting in
- Dwarf commander: i[sic] think you've done the job
- Player: good stuff
- Dwarf commander: could you do me one more favour?
- Dwarf commander: i[sic] need you to go check up on a guard
- Dwarf commander: he should be in the black guard watch tower just to the south of here
- Dwarf commander: he should have reported in by now
- Player: ok, i'll[sic] see what i can find out
- Dwarf commander: thanks traveller
Talking to him again, not having found the guard[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello
- Dwarf commander: have you been to the watch tower yet?
- Player: yes, i[sic] went up but there was no one
- Dwarf commander: that's strange, gilob never leaves his post
- Dwarf commander: his son was also with him, its too strange
- Dwarf commander: can you return and look for clues?
- Player: ok then
Talking to him again, having found Dwarf remains[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello
- Dwarf commander: have you been to the watch tower yet?
- Player: yes, i[sic] went up but there was no one
- Dwarf commander: that's strange, gilob never leaves his post
- Player: i[sic] may have some bad news for you commander
- you show the Dwarf commander the remains
- Dwarf commander: what's this?, oh no , it can't be!
- Player: i'm[sic] sorry, it looks like the goblins got him
- Dwarf commander: noooo... those..those animals
- Dwarf commander: but where's gilobs[sic] son?, he was also there
- Player: the goblins must have taken him
- Dwarf commander: please traveller, seek out the goblins base..
- Dwarf commander: ...and return the lad to us
- Dwarf commander: they must sleep somewhere!
- Player: ok, i'll[sic] see if i[sic] can find their hide out

- Dwarf commander: traveller[sic] have you managed to find the goblins[sic] base?
- Player: not yet i'm[sic] afraid, but i'll[sic] keep looking
Talking to him again, after rescuing gilob's son[edit | edit source]
- Player: hello, has lollk returned yet?
- Dwarf commander: he has, and i[sic] thank you from the bottom of my heart..
- Dwarf commander: ...with out you he'd be goblin barbecue
- Player: always a pleasure to help
- Dwarf commander: in that case i[sic] have one more favour to ask you
- Dwarf commander: as you've seen, our defences are too weak against those goblins
- Dwarf commander: the black guard have sent us a cannon to help the situation
- Player: sounds good
- Dwarf commander: unfortunatly[sic] we're having trouble fixing the thing
- Dwarf commander: the cannon is stored in our shed
- Dwarf commander: if you could fix it, it would be a great help

- Dwarf commander: that's great,you'll need this

- Dwarf commander: we've been trying our best with that thing
- Dwarf commander: but i[sic] just haven't got the patience
- Player: it's[sic] not an easy job, but i'm[sic] getting there
- Dwarf commander: good stuff, let me know if you have any luck
- Dwarf commander: if we manage to get that thing working...
- Dwarf commander: those goblins will be know[sic] trouble at all

- Dwarf commander: hello there traveller, how's things?

- the Dwarf commander pops into the shed to take a closer look
- Dwarf commander: well i[sic] don't believe it, it seems to be in working order
- Player: not bad for an adventurer
- Dwarf commander: not bad at all, your effort is appreciated my friend
- Dwarf commander: now, if i[sic] could only figure what the thing uses as ammo
- Dwarf commander: the black guard forgot to send instructions
- Dwarf commander: i[sic] know i[sic] said that was the last favour..but..
- Player: what now?
- Dwarf commander: i[sic] can't leave this post, could you go to the black guard..
- Dwarf commander: ..base and find out what this thing actually shoots?

- Dwarf commander: the base is located just south of the ice mountain
- Dwarf commander: you'll need to speak to the dwarf Cannon engineer
- Dwarf commander: he's the weapons development chief for the black guard
- Dwarf commander: so if anyone knows how to fire that thing, it'll be him
- Player: ok, i'll[sic] see what i[sic] can do

Talking to him again, not having spoken with the Dwarf Cannon engineer[edit | edit source]
- Player: hi again
- Dwarf commander: hello traveller
- Dwarf commander: any word from the Cannon engineer?
- Player: not yet
- Dwarf commander: the black guard camp is just south of the ice mountain
- Dwarf commander: the quicker we can get some ammo for this thing..
- Dwarf commander: .. the quicker those goblins will leave us be
- Player: i'll[sic] get to it
After talking to the Dwarf Cannon engineer and losing the items he gave you[edit | edit source]
- Player: hi
- Player: hello traveller, any word from the Cannon engineer?
- Player: yes, i[sic] have spoken to him
- Player: he gave me some items to give you...
- Player: but i[sic] seem to have lost something
- Player: if you could go back and get another, i'd[sic] appreciate it
- Player: ok then
After talking to the Dwarf Cannon engineer[edit | edit source]
- Player: hi
- Player: hello traveller, any word from the Cannon engineer?
- Player: yes, i[sic] have spoken to him
- Player: he gave me these to give to you
- (you hand the Dwarf commander the mould and the notes)
- Player: aah, of course, we make the ammo
- Player: this is great, now we will be able to defend ourselves
- Player: i[sic] don't know how to thank you
- Player: you could give me a cannon
- Player: hah, you'd be lucky, those things are worth a fortune
- Player: hmmm, now i[sic] think about it the Cannon engineer may be able
to help
- Player: he controls production of the cannons
- Player: he won't be able to give you one
- Player: but for the right price, i'm[sic] sure he'll sell one to you
- Player: hmmm, sounds interesting
- Player: take care of yourself traveller, and thanks again
- Player: you take care too
