Monks of Zamorak are evil monsters dedicated to the worship of Zamorak. They occupy the Chaos Temple and are protectors of the Wine of Zamorak.
Training[edit | edit source]
Killing the Monks of Zamorak could be considered to be a viable combat training method for mid-level players, especially while waiting for the Wine of Zamorak to respawn. When fought at the Chaos Temple north of Falador, the monks are located right next to an altar which can be used to restore the players prayer points.
However, directly attacking a Monk of Zamorak or attempting to take the Wine of Zamorak will subject the player to a curse which harshly lowers the player's Attack, Defense, and Strength skills.[1] The Monks must be talked to in order for those melee combat skills to not be lowered. When the Talk-to option is selected instead of Attack, the Monk of Zamorak will attack without cursing you after a brief line of dialogue.[2]
Collecting Wine of Zamorak[edit | edit source]
Players who try to take the wine by any means other than the Telekinetic grab spell will be cursed by a nearby Monk, and then attacked. The curse lowers the players melee stats by a scaling amount in addition to dealing damage. The wine may be taken without the use of the telegrab spell if all of the Monks are currently slain and waiting to respawn.
