Bad wine is obtained when failing an attempt to make wine by using grapes on a jug of water at level 35 cooking. It becomes impossible to fail this process at level 70 cooking. The player will not receive cooking experience if the unfermented wine turns into bad wine. Bad wine could be considered a useless item if the player does not want to do the wine trick. Consuming the wine only has the negative effects of the good wine and empties the jug.
